Handsworth Test Centre

We've all the information you need if you're taking your test at the Handsworth test centre in Sheffield.

Last updated: 17 Jul 2019

Handsworth Test Centre is located in a quiet industrial area towards the outskirts of the city. It’s a convenient location for learners living near the East and South East of Sheffield and some of the rural areas a little further past the city too. Because of this, we’d strongly recommend to get some practice driving on rural roads and how to spot particular hazards on them.

Pass rates

In 2017-2018, Handsworth Test Centre had a 42% pass rate, which is just a few percent below the national average of 46.3%. It’s also below the other Sheffield test centre, Middlewood, which came in at 46.4%. This could be partly because of Handsworth Test Centre’s proximity to some winding rural roads. So, don’t let the figures put you off, just get brushing up on your country road driving!
