Once you’ve found an instructor and booked your driving lessons, there’s a few questions you should be asking once you’ve started driving. Here’s 5 of them.

1. What am I doing well?

Don’t ask this the second you get in the driving seat expecting your instructor to be able to tell you when you’re going to pass your test. They need to be able to have a few lessons with you before they can work out what your strengths are.

2. What do I need to improve on?

It’s not all about what you’re good at. Sorry to break it to you, but there’ll probably be a few things you need to work on too. Your driving instructor will be the best person to give constructive criticism about your driving. Whether it’s roundabouts, your parking skills or observations you need to work on, they’ll let you know.

3. What can I expect from my driving test?

You can find out what the driving test will be like with our article, but your instructor is also one of the best people to ask what will happen on the day. You don’t want any nasty surprises, so make sure you’re clued up on the process.

4. Am I ready for my mock test?

Before you commit to spending your hard-earned cash on your driving test, you should be able to take a mock test with another instructor. Check with your instructor to see if you’re ready for your mock, and they’ll help you get it booked.

5. Do you do pass plus?

We get it, you pass your test and the last thing you want to do is get back in the car with a driving instructor. But, at some point, you might want to take a Pass Plus course. Find out from your instructor whether they’ll do the course with you, because there’s no harm in asking!
